Where will any of these received funds go? Well, my main goal is to establish a location-independent income, so I may put it into my new business, Mutopia, where my partner and I work on virtual applications to revolutionize learning. Or perhaps it will go toward my new passion, dance. I'm hoping to study the art of movement wherever I go, and I think the teachers will be well-deserving of compensation. I often like to give to others as well, whether it be a dinner or a plane ticket to come visit, so your gift will continue to travel just like me!

    you are a true inspiration
your maiden speech and this site that it lead me to could not have come at a better time, when i am looking at making drastic changes in my own life. I am just about to jump out of my comfort zone and move to another state. I am also doing things quite differently like eating consciously, working consciously and interacting with other ppl in a way that brings a win-win.
I always thought something was wring with our education system. I remember the contrast between my anticipatory first day at school with all its excitement and naivete compared to the last day when every body expressed their frustration with schooling system with the what we in Australia officially call "Muck Up Day". Naturally everyone ran amok, and showed the schooling system they may be dumbed down but they weren't down and out because of it. There was hope that something bigger can come of the future chapters that were still to come.
And for me fortunately, they did. I stumbled on a spiritual path and did a lot of Unlearning of the formal education system - that is i started to learn to cultivate that inner ear that is my heart. It always guides me to a life that is truly mine. It's not always an easy path but I am responsible for it and thus gain invaluable lessons from all of life's journeys. These are lessons that can never be reversed. And I am thankful about that. These are the kinds of lessons that inspire rather than force facts down my throat.
Thank you, I will be watching your posts. I wish you the best in your endeavours to bring common sense to our educational system and make this world a more democratic and therefore healthy one.
    Love, Ilya

  4. You are a FRAUD! Exploiting others, you are a terrible person. Teachers work so hard to inspire and your speech devalues education. My family came to America penniless, but education was my salvation. Those silly pieces of paper I call diplomas made sure I was held accountable for content and thoughts. Warm and fuzzy educational system you proposed is a work of nostalgia that cannot be validated. I wish your teachers would have got up in masse during your speech . . . I would.

  5. What is the purpose of a donations page again? May I ask? To further your own endeavors? Are you penniless or disabled? Are you dumb and cannot work? I do not know how shameless one can get.
Just develop a program that analyses the genes of people to pick out true intellect, compassion creativity(plus any other big words that you used) if that's what you want. That should be your "perfect" examination I suppose? In that way the world will be run by people who are dreamers, worse, people with a glib tongue can succeed and rule and not by people who prove that they have the aptitude and will to do some serious (hard)work.
Girl, before you consider words as big as "revolutionize" education. Think of how you would gather the funding for it. People clapping there and here, saying how inspiring your speech were. I assure you they do not have the money. Such acts only succeed in times of chaos. But apparently, the education isn't producing such a chaotic society for you to leverage on isn't it?
But yes, you can probably cheat a bit here and there to do some dancing if that's all you want to do. Please stop leading and encouraging the bunch of slackers who are born thinking they deserve everything without working with what you're trying to do. If you really know what's wrong with the system, I suggest you go through the full extend of it, understand how each part connects, and then attempt to do anything at all.
And before you reach a balance between societal interests and the complains of selfish individuals, whatever you say is narrow minded and holds no credit.
Lastly, asking for money is the best way to discredit yourself.

  8. Saw the video, poked around + then: DONATE?

I'm as progressive as they come and work as an artist and teacher but I WORK.

Work is actually not a bad spirit crushing thing. It gives young creative aspirants some material to write, sing or dance about. Asking for donations makes you look like the stereotype that right-wingers peg those of us "creative types" to be: selfish, lazy, etc.

I'm sorry but if I were you I'd take that button down. It's embarrassing.

  9. Erica, I recommend you to read "The 4-Hour Workweek" by Tim Ferriss on portable income. When I first saw your valedictorian speech video, omg I was so impressed. You're so rare nowadays in this post-ideological era. I know you're very socially conscious and I hope you'll continue raising awareness about the truth. But the truth is our civilization is facing a very grim challenge. Our future is uncertain. This very generation will make or break the future of humanity. Keep finding out the truths and wake people up before it's too late.

Pardon my english, I'm not english-ed.
